Young care leavers from alternative care shared their challenges and needs about youth employability with a diverse group of stakeholders at a youth led advocacy workshop held on September 04, 2019. The workshop was organised by SOS Children’s Villages of Sri Lanka and Generation Never Give Up Network to advocate with the policymakers, educators, corporates and the civil society to be more aware about the challenges that the care leavers face while transitioning from care to working life.
Our own Nimmu Chanu Kumari and Iresha, representing the GNG Network, handing over a proposal with key recommendations to ensure the rights and well-being of care leavers to government authorities.
The launch of the Generation Never Give-up (GNG) Network and a special fellowship time with young care leavers from different childcare institutions/residential care facilities will take place on this day where we will be discussing how we can take this mission forward to support each other and to stand for each other as a family
